1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to CycleBalance. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CycleBalance mobile application ("App") and any related services provided by CycleBalance ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use CycleBalance. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Description of Service
CycleBalance is an iOS health and wellness application designed specifically for individuals managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). The App provides the following features:
- Cycle Tracking: Tools for tracking irregular menstrual cycles without relying on standard 28-day assumptions.
- Symptom Logging: The ability to record and monitor PCOS-related symptoms, including hormonal changes, insulin and glucose levels, dietary impact, and other health markers.
- Pregnancy and Postpartum Tracking: Optional tracking for pregnancy and postpartum periods, including estimated due dates and pregnancy outcomes.
- HealthKit Integration: Optional read-only access to Apple HealthKit data, including body mass, sleep analysis, blood glucose, active energy, resting heart rate, and step count, to provide a more comprehensive health picture.
- On-Device Machine Learning Insights: Personalized pattern recognition and correlations generated entirely on your device using on-device ML, designed to help you better understand your body's unique patterns.
- Health Reports and Data Export: PDF health reports for sharing with your healthcare provider, CSV data exports for spreadsheet use, and JSON backups with schema versioning for full data portability.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time without prior notice.
3. Subscriptions and Purchases
CycleBalance offers premium features through the following purchase options:
- Auto-Renewable Subscriptions: Premium access is available through auto-renewable subscription plans with monthly or annual billing cycles. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Lifetime Purchase: A one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that grants permanent access to premium features.
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. Apple manages all billing, payment processing, and receipts. CycleBalance does not directly collect or store your payment information.
To manage or cancel a subscription, go to your device's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to premium features until that date.
If your subscription lapses or expires, premium features will become unavailable. Your data will remain on your device, but features requiring a premium subscription will be restricted until you renew or purchase again.
Refund requests must be directed to Apple, as Apple processes all App Store transactions. CycleBalance cannot issue refunds directly.
4. Medical Disclaimer
CycleBalance is a health and wellness tool. It is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The information, insights, and patterns presented by the App are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified healthcare provider.
- Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding PCOS or any other medical condition.
- Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or observed in the App.
- If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your doctor or emergency services immediately.
- CycleBalance does not recommend or endorse any specific tests, physicians, products, procedures, opinions, or other information that may be referenced within the App.
- CycleBalance does not provide obstetric, prenatal, or postpartum medical advice. Pregnancy and postpartum tracking features are for informational record-keeping only and are not a substitute for professional prenatal or postnatal care.
Your reliance on any information provided by CycleBalance is solely at your own risk.
5. User Responsibilities
When using CycleBalance, you agree to:
- Use the App only for its intended purpose as a personal health and wellness tracking tool.
- Provide accurate information when logging symptoms and health data, understanding that the quality of insights depends on the accuracy of the data you enter.
- Not use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the App.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App.
- Not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or its content.
- Maintain the security of your device and take reasonable steps to protect your data.
6. Intellectual Property
The App and its entire contents, features, and functionality — including but not limited to all software, code, design, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and the selection and arrangement thereof — are owned by CycleBalance, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
The CycleBalance name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of CycleBalance. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
7. Data and Privacy
Your privacy is fundamental to how CycleBalance is built. All personal health data you enter into the App is stored exclusively on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your health data on external servers.
- Machine learning insights are generated entirely on your device using on-device processing.
- Your symptom logs, cycle data, and health information never leave your device.
- With your permission, CycleBalance may read data from Apple HealthKit. This data is used solely within the app on your device and is never transmitted externally.
- You are responsible for backing up your own data. If you delete the App or lose your device, your data may not be recoverable.

8. HealthKit Integration
CycleBalance offers optional integration with Apple HealthKit to provide a more comprehensive view of your health data. By granting permission, you allow the App to read the following data types from HealthKit:
- Body mass (weight)
- Sleep analysis
- Blood glucose
- Resting heart rate
- Active energy burned
- Step count
HealthKit integration is entirely optional. You can enable or disable access to each data type individually through your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > CycleBalance.
CycleBalance accesses HealthKit data in read-only mode. The App does not write any data to HealthKit.
All HealthKit data accessed by CycleBalance remains on your device and is used solely within the App to display health metrics and generate insights. HealthKit data is never transmitted to CycleBalance servers, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.
9. Data Import and Export
CycleBalance provides data import and export capabilities to give you full control over your health data:
Export:
- CSV Export: Export your tracked data in CSV format for use in spreadsheet applications.
- JSON Backup: Create full data backups in JSON format with schema versioning for data portability and archival purposes.
- PDF Health Reports: Generate formatted health reports suitable for sharing with healthcare providers.
Import:
- JSON Import: Restore data from a JSON backup. Imported data is validated against the expected schema before being applied.
- CSV Template Import: Import data using a structured CSV template.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of any data you import into the App. Import operations may overwrite existing data entries where conflicts are detected. We recommend creating a backup before performing any import operation.
Exported files are saved to locations you choose on your device or shared via the iOS share sheet. Once exported, the security of that data is your responsibility.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CycleBalance disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:
- The App will function uninterrupted, be secure, or be available at any particular time or location.
- Any errors or defects will be corrected.
- The App is free of viruses or other harmful components.
- The results of using the App — including any insights, patterns, or predictions — will be accurate, reliable, or meet your expectations.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CYCLEBALANCE, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your access to, use of, or inability to use the App.
- Any conduct or content of any third party referenced in the App.
- Any health decisions or actions you take or fail to take based on information provided by the App.
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your data or content.
- Any other matter relating to the App.
In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims relating to the App exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, for access to the App during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Upon deletion, all data stored within the App on your device will be removed.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without notice or liability, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.
Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware. You consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App or by other reasonable means. The updated Terms will indicate the new effective date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the App after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the App.

16. End User License Agreement (EULA)
CycleBalance is licensed to you under the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the terms of the Apple Standard EULA in addition to these Terms of Use. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA shall take precedence with respect to your license to use the App.
